Hello, all.
I recently inherited this rifle.  After reading this site I think it's a standard rifle with a cut down stock.  The S/N is 3869XX.  It appears to have the original sights and other than slight copper fouling in the bore it is in decent shape.

Is this anything other than a garden variety sportsterized Krag?

Appears to be pretty standard and better than most. Better because the metal appears to not have been altered and most of the original rifle hardware is there. If you like it the way it is then enjoy, if you would prefer a more original look then forend replacements are available and so is the missing forward hardware.
