screws?

on my krag, i have a 1902 rear sight. this winter i plan on taking it off and putting a redfield peep sight on. can i 8/32" screw or do i need something else?(took off another gun so i could put on a scope)

Could you re-state this sentence in a language with which you might be more comfortable? As it stands, it appears to be missing some crucial elements.

I will take a stab at this. I am thinking you need screws to fitĀ  the barrel where the rear sight base is normally mounted, and these screws will hold down a scope mount? If so the original screws were non standard (before the UN system). I have 2 that I made to fit the original holes and they are approximately 8 X 30. I made them to many years ago and the threads are so short that it is hard to measure exactly. To fit well the screws will need rounded roots and crests.
