	That front sight blade looks a little too high for a '96, but it should zero better at 100 yds. Regardless, you got a nice Krag with all Krag parts for a fair price!! Enjoy!!

	Based on the serial number, that is a 98 Ned, and the front sight blade is correct. I think the model just looks like it says 1896...

	Paul: I think 'surplusaddict' has a model 1896 rear-sight on his model 1898 Krag. (Hence, Ned's observation).
