In the Joe Poyer book "The American Krag Rifle and Carbine" there is an interesting table detailing which 1898 serial numbers were rifles and which were carbines. Does anyone know if this is the definitive list or if there is a better source for this information?

'lingr100' - I like Poyer's Book(s), but, I would not Trust that table or list.

IIRC - There were only two prototype model 1892 carbines.

FWIW - Notes I made for myself, from the tables of "Known Krags", in Frank Mallory's - "The Krag Rifle Story", 2nd. edition:

1896 Carbines fall mostly in two approximate ranges - From #24709 to #35792 and #67010 to #79764.

1898 Carbines (only 5,000 made) seem to fall between - #117536 to #133791 (But, there are lots of 1898 Rifles also in that same range).
