Magazine problem

This is not my problem... but rather a problem of a friend of mine who is not on this forum.

He has a Krag that he is working on, and the bolt won't pick up the last round in the magazine.  I believe it could be a problem with the follower or flat spring, but I'm not sure and I don't have direct access to the rifle, as he lives a couple hours from me.

I'm looking for some advice that I can pass on to him.

Thanks in advance.
Paul

Clean it, check to see the follower isn't hitting the top of the magazine.  22018 does not feed the last one with a certain spring, put a slightly stronger spring in, which makes the magazine a bit harder to open, and it feeds that last round fine.

This may be a long shot, if someone was having trouble feeding nonstandard rounds before they may have modified the follower by grinding/polishing off the top part. If so it would keep the last round from lifting into position.
