Now, for something completely different! U.S. Patent 502,727 - O. Krag and E. Jorgensen's design for a 'straight-pull' rifle bolt, with dual locking-lugs.

There are some transcription errors in the description, that is viewable online. This straight-pull bolt appears to have been an improvement on patent 492,212, for the Krag-Jorgensen model in the Smithsonian.

(Note, the dual locking-lugs. The online description mentions an improvement on 'patent 492,22', which I am sure has omitted a digit).
