I found a good price on the Hornady 180gr sp 30-40 ammo so I ordered some and got to the range this AM with my newly acquired 1896 Krag rifle. Once I got my sight picture and POA figured out she did good at 100 yards(good for a 121 year old rifle and a 68 year old half blind guy,its not quite that bad). Did at least as good as with Remington. I took it since it has the best bore of my 4, so it would be a good test. No problems. Any other thoughts on the Hornady ammo? I didn't cycle any thru the magazine, silly me, but no troubles loading, firing or ejecting.

I would trust the Hornady ammo to be every bit as good as Remington or Winchester. Hornady (wisely) stepped up to the plate in a market that was (for some time) sorely lacking... and knocked it out of the park! Their decision to start producing Krag ammo has had the added effect of forcing Remington to start producing loaded ammo again, as well as several cartridge manufacturers to produce brass. As long as we continue to buy, we'll keep the demand up, and hopefully keep them all producing for many years to come.
