When I was a Cub Scout, my Pack went one time to be in the audience of the Saturday morning, "Sage Brush Shorty Show", on Detroit Television.
It was a Western Themed Kid's show, with cartoons, Western Serials, and a Cowboy Host.
'Sage Brush' often had a special guest, his friend, restaurant owner, and gun collector, Andy Palmer.
Andy was cool! He would appear in period costume with an interesting historical firearm from his collection. He would explain the arm and display how it functioned.
I loved it, when he was a guest!
My Dad always intended to take me some time to Andy's restaurant, The Military Inn, to see the displays. We drove by it a few times in our travels, but, never had the opportunity to go in. (We did not live nearby).
I do remember when the Andy Palmer Collection was auctioned off in the mid-1970s. It was a pretty 'high roller' event.
I saw these pages the other day on the internet. It had to be a great place to eat, drink, and loiter around in!
