Here is a interesting scope mount ... I bought it because it said it was for a Springfield rifle ... have a look ...

Never seen anything like that. I can not figure out how the rings lock onto the base. Would a photo from the bottom of the rings clear that up? Is the spring loaded rod part of a quick detach set up?

yes it is like a Bausch and lomb mount were you just push on the scope and it comes off ... so one scope one scope mount and you can take it off one rifle and put it one another one ...

Makes sense now. The front one will be fixed and the rear spring loaded I think. Will ponder some more on that.
