FWIW - Most of us have never encountered a U.S. $1,000 Bill. They were last printed in 1946, discontinued in 1969, were rarely in circulation, are still legal tender.
One recently sold at auction for 2 Million Dollars ... Two Bills?
The last ones printed bore Grover Cleveland ... ("Grovers"?)
Earlier in the 20th Century, Alexander Hamilton was on the "K" .. er .. "M" .. er .. "G" Note???
Too rich and confusing for my blood!
... myself, I carry a rolled up $500 "Willy Mac", or two, in the butt-trap of my Krag. Kind of in the period.
(The collector value of the 500 starts at around $650, or the price of a grungy Krag).
Actually, all the big stuff, and even bigger bills, stopped being printed and was discontinued long ago. The collector value exceeds the face value.
The $100 "Benjamin" is the largest U.S. Bill in common circulation.
