JC,
Yours is an interesting looking cutdown sporter job. The gun began life as a Model 1889 Danish Krag long rifle. It was prduced in 1910. The barrel was much longer, 32,78 inches, with a barrel jacket. The stock has been cut quite a bit also, and had the pistol grip added in and looks like something done to the butt. The ramp front sight is, of course, after market, as is the rear peep sight. I am not sure about what the spot is on the top of the barrel either. I am also wondering what those marks are inside on the floor of the magazine.
I have quite a few Danish Krag long rifles, carbines, a sniper and some cutdown ones too. They are solid, accurate and, yes, a joy to shoot.
Enjoy your new toy.
Best regards, Tom
