Likely somewhat of a rookie question, but how does one distinguish a 1901 U.S. Krag rifle rear sight from a 1901 U.S. Krag carbine rear sight?

TIA

Tom

Tom:  You should invest in Joe Poyer's book, 'The American Krag Rifle and Carbine'.  It doesn't cost much, has some  mistakes, but will increase your enjoyment of Krags.
The 1901 Carbine sight 'ladder' is calibrated to 2,300 yards, is not angled for 'drift', and has three small "c"s (on the side of the base and ladder and on the "v" notch eye-piece).  The rifle 'ladder' is calibrated to 2,000 and is angled for drift.
