I recently was the recipient of two rifles both have plugged barrels.
1899 #280820
1895 #27818

Do they have any value for parts or as they sit?

Howdy jfink149,

It really depends on what you have.  If they are sporterized with plugged barrels and don't even have an original rear sight, then probably not... but again, it depends on what you have.  Pictures will help immensely!  It's much easier to give an estimate on what can be seen rather than what can't.

FWIW, if the Krags are in original condition and the plugged barrel is the only thing wrong, then all is not lost.  New Criterion barrels can be purchased from the CMP and they can install them as well, which would return your Krags to functioning firearms.  Something to think about...

I'd expect 27818 to be a carbine, and a receiver date of 1899 almost assures 280820 to be one as weii. 22" barrels on both? Probably both worth restoring, especially the earlier one. Can the plugs be removed?
