fore stock restoration

Hello, I am a new member here and I just acquired a new to me Krag.  I have a model 1898 Krag, serial # 269183, which was sporterized, with the barrel shortened to 22" and the fore stock cut off.  The rear barrel band seems to have been moved back approximately 3/4" based on the length of a standard 1901 hand guard.  I would like to know if there are available, sections of fore stock which can be spliced onto the existing fore stock. My intention is to put a front barrel band with a bayonet lug on the rifle and move the back barrel band forward to allow the placement of the 1901 hand guard.  I hope to make it appear to be a carbine with a bayonet lug.  I know this is not a correct configuration but this rifle will be mostly just a wall hanger.  Any help would be appreciated.
