Looking for any info on this Krag with an odd stamping "RITZ", on the stock & stock end plate?
It appears to be a model cut-down to Carbine length.
Anyone with ideas on origins, or History of this one?
If so, it would be appreciated.
Here are some details to ponder below, Thanks.

I responded to your other identical post on the KCA Forum.

I recall this Krag being posted on another gun forum. I remember a joke about an early owner liking Crackers!

Butlersrangers;
Saw the response on the other posting, put it in 2 categories to get more feedback, but perhaps not necessary. I suspect the "RITZ" was a previous owner mod, but the info on the "J" stamp is helpful. I found 2 associations with the Krag and "Ritz", that are most likely not related. One was an interesting story about an Illegal sale of Krags getting busted at the Ritz Hotel... The other was a Big Game Hunter who was once CEO of Thomson Center Arms named Gregg Ritz. Would be interesting if this person was once the owner a long time ago, but as another post reply said, "Lost to History".
Thanks for the Input.

I have a sporterized 92 with the J.  We've discussed such letter stampings and decided we don't have any idea who used them for what purpose.
